What I don't offer
I do not offer a crisis service. If you feel suicidal or desperate it
is more appropriate to contact your GP or the Samaritans. The type of
counselling I offer is not useful in this situation but is helpful when
the crisis has passed and you want to look at the underlying issues. I also do not offer couples counselling or family group counselling, I work with individuals only. Obsessive compulsive disorders, addictions and eating disorders may respond better to other types of therapy.
Common issues
I work on a one to one basis. My service is gay friendly. Issues which
I do work with include Stress, Depression, Abuse, Aspergers, Gay issues,
Sexual orientation, Relationship problems, Bereavement, Adoption, Weight
problems, Loss, Anxiety, Abortion, Miscarriage, Fear, Low self esteem, Debt,
Divorce, Rape, Infidelity, Emotional abuse, Anger management,
Sexual harassment, Powerlessness, Inability to cope, Isolation, HIV, Illness,
work problems and Pet Bereavement. If you have an issue not
mentioned I am happy to discuss this with you. I work with children, adolescents
and adults.
About Me
I have ten years experience working with many different issues. I undertake
regular supervision. I am married
with one daughter and have always lived in Ayrshire. This helps to bring
an understanding of the local culture to my counselling work.
I have over 500 hours training which includes a Certificate in Counselling
Skills,
Transactional Analysis T101 certificate and a Diploma in Weight Consultancy.
I have also attended short training courses on Inner Child Work, Art Therapy,

Use, Bereavement and Supervision. My Bachelor of Arts degree included
