The Great Tour
Troon
On 3rd July 2010 an intrepid band of cyclists drawn from the worlds of sport, celebrity, charity, politics, science and the arts will gather in Seaton, Devon, to embark on one the Britain’s last great sporting challenges - to circumnavigate the coast by bicycle. Keeping the sea to their right for 64 days the riders will never lose the sight, smell or sound of the sea during their epic 6600km pedal for charity. The ride will be hosted by well known athletes who will be joined by a wide variety of guests and charity riders to create a colourful and inspirational sporting celebration of the British coastline. This will be the inaugural Great Tour, which will become an annual charity bike ride. For further information please visit our website at

Ayrshire's only monthly indoor craft fair. The Ayrshire Arts and Crafts Fair takes place each month in Troon in either the Concert or Walker Hall. Admission to every event is FREE and each month provides a fantastic opportunity to buy some truly unique, hand-crafted items. The Craft Fair is open to the public from 11am to 4:30pm. Our 2010 Fairs provide a great opportunity to buy truly unique, hand-crafted items from hand-made jewellery to embroidery, toys, wood turning and stained glass, there is plenty for shoppers to choose from. Brian Taylor's Big Debate

Brian Taylor's Big Debate - a weekly BBC Radio Scotland radio show will be broadcast live from Walker Hall, Troon, chaired by BBC Scotland Political Correspondent, Raymond Buchanan, as he sits in for Brian Taylor, focussing on the week's biggest news stories.The programme broadcasts with a panel in front of an audience, and takes a similar format to the BBC's Question Time. Please arrive at 11:45 (the broadcast is from 12:15-13:00). This event is open to the public, and you are welcome to bring friends/family members too.

For the past 8 years the Ayrshire Fiddle Orchestra has been under the musical direction of Alistair McCulloch, one of Scotland's best-known fiddlers. Apart from his teaching commitments at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and the University of Strathclyde, he travels extensively with his Ceilidh Band Coila and his renowned group The Alistair McCulloch Trio. On Wednesday 18th August the Trio and the Orchestra will give a Concert in the Walker Hall Troon at 8pm, promising to raise the rafters with an evening of energetic, rhythmic fiddle music. The 'Live@Troon' event will feature a wide variety of musical talent playing at numerous venues around the town. Marr College Hockey Support Group Social Evening
Marr Rugby Club, Fullarton Park
The Marr College Hockey Support Group have organised a social evening on Friday 10th September at Marr Rugby Club at Fullarton Park startinbg at 7.30pm for 8pm. The idea is for parents and friends to get to know each other socially in a relaxed atmosphere, enjoy some food suppplied by Jim Meikle and entertainment provided by Ian and Heather McCreath. There will also be a raffle to raise much needed funds. Tickets cost £7.50 per person and the price includes a drink and hot buffet in addition to the entertainment.
